Change Isn’t Easy—for a Reason

Change is hard—if it weren’t, we’d already be living in a version of the world that’s ten times better than the current one.

But change comes at a price. A steep one. It must be paid fully, and in advance. That’s why most people who talk about change don’t follow through. It’s not because they don’t mean it—it’s because the cost is often too high to bear.

A Man Who Chose to Live Authentically

Let me tell you a story. A man made a simple yet rare decision: to live authentically, true to himself.

He didn’t break any laws. In fact, his values and actions aligned with every principle in any democratic constitution. He honored the law, human dignity, and personal freedom.

But that wasn’t the issue.

When Authenticity Threatens Control

The real problem was that his way of living challenged a structure built on control. A system built by people who depend on sameness, silence, and predictability.

He didn’t know such people existed—at least not in the way they do.

He thought he lived in a free society where you can live how you want as long as you respect the law.

He didn’t know that his freedom alone would feel like a threat to those invested in controlling others.

The Monkey and the Mirror

And so, they came for him.

They studied him, tested him, pushed him to the edge. They tried every tactic—coercion, manipulation, isolation.

But it never worked. Because what they were really fighting wasn’t him—it was their own reflection.

When the Attacks Became Personal

It all began where many battles begin: in the workplace.

They made his time at the company feel like a slow descent into hell. Not because he did anything wrong—but because he refused to play the role they wrote for him.

That part of the story deserves its own chapter.

And it’s coming next..
